Screen Resolution
It used to be that the only screen resolution that was available was 640 x 480 pixels. Now with advanced monitors, there are many different resolution settings to choose from. The most common resolutions that designers aim for now are 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. If you find yourself scrolling webpages left to right in order to view the content, you may have your browser setting at a low resolution. Just follow these simple instructions to change your monitor settings.

For Windows:
Click the Start Menu --> Go to Settings --> Click Control Panel --> Double click Display --> Click the Settings Tab --> Choose setting

It is recommended that you choose at least an 800 x 600 pixel resolution. For 14 and 15 inch monitors this would be the norm. For monitors larger than 17 inches, you can increase the resolution to 1024 x 768 or above depending on your system.
